Of all the lovely places to be found along the Sunshine Coast, the little village of Roberts Creek stands alone. As much for its Liliputian quaintness, with its library and restaurants, as for its one outstanding place to stay: Loragene and Philip’s Country Cottage Bed and Breakfast, two private cottages on their two-acre farm.....

.... Cedar Lodge is "a tree-house for grown-ups". A stairway up to a deck negotiates the 90-year-old red cedar and leads you into a large converted barn. Furniture by the "twig people", Mexican throws, First Nation art and fishing-hunting-skiing accoutrements all live happily side by side. A writing desk groans under books, and sofas and rockers huddle around a stone fireplace. Then there’s Rose Cottage, smaller, even cosier, just as delectably rustic with a big iron bed, old pine dresser and hearty log-burner. Loragene is a sparkling hostess, quick to laughter. She chops the wood, feeds the chickens, the Romney ewes and three enormous Irish wolf hounds, Ceilidh and Seamus and Kiloran - your dogs are welcome! Complimentary bones! And she brings a wonderful breakfast to your cottage door, including her trademark "Eggs Lorageneadict", all ingeniously cooked on a 1927 wood-burning stove. There are also toys for boys. Phillip’s ‘thing’ is cars – a Dodge Truck folly in the field and another in the garage along with a Ferrari. Something for everyone – stay as long as you can! WIFI
