A very relaxed, one-stop shop for those staying in Sudbury, Parker House has it all: central location, restaurant, on-site coffee roastery, cheery bar, fine accommodation and friendly hosts. The night I stayed the inn was full of people, local and not, and I really did hear more than one person mutter, "Ooh, this is nice," to their companions.....

.... I sat down in pale yellow surrounds, with salmon on the table and Louis Armstrong on the cornet, and chatted to Kathy about life in this part of the province. She has been in the hospitality business for a number of years, while Michael is a teacher with enough energy to run around helping at breakfast. Must be something in the water. The inn is just over four years old now, and has expanded into the house across the road, where there are three suites. That was where I slept, in a lovely room with wooden floors, rattan furniture and yellow-and-blue linen. Great bathroom too, with its wood floors, iron table and chairs. The rooms in the main house are smaller, but elegantly furnished, and coloured (and named) after some of the coffees that are made here. The Culls also own a hand-hewn log cabin on a small lake 30 mins away.
